Double Edge Theatre of Ashfield, MA, has completed a run of 23 performances of “The Firebird” in 30 days. Spectators from all over the United States, as well as such countries as South Africa, Germany, Russia and Poland came to see the show performed — rain or shine — on the grounds of the farm where the theatre is located. In addition to the core ensemble of actors, the troupe consisted of performers from Russia (Oksana Mysina), Bulgaria (Milena Dabova), England (Adam Smith), and Ireland (Kieran Smyth).

On July 28 Oksana Mysina debuted on stage at the avant-garde Double Edge Theater in Massachusetts. This production, directed by Stacy Klein, is a version of the Russian fairy-tale “The Firebird,” and is inspired by the paintings of Marc Chagall. In the course of the performance, which takes place on the grounds of the Farm at Double Edge, Oksana plays the Tsar's sister, a witch who sings in the river, a violinist, and a bird who sings in a wood by a pond. Performances continue through August 22.
