Director Alexander Iskin is making a documentary film for the Culture channel called “Islands. Alexandra Khokhova.” It will tell the story of the great Russian film star of the 1920s and early'30s Alexandra Khokhlova. Oksana Mysina will provide Кhokhlova's voice.

Vitaly Melnikov's new film about Anton Chekhov, „The Admirer,” based loosely on memoirs by Lidia Avilova and various writings by Chekhov, will be shown June 23 and 24 in Moscow during the Moscow Film Festival. Kirill Pirogov plays Chekhov; Svetlana Ivanova plays Lidia Avilova; Oleg Tabakov plays Chekhov's friend Leikin. Featured in a trio of comic characters are Oksana Mysina as a decadent poet, Svetlana Kryuchkov as a novelist, and Alexei Devotchenko as Puss the critic. The June 23rd showing is at 10 p.m. at the Oktyabr cinema. The June 24 showing is at 7 p.m. at Moscow's Dom Kino.

Vladimir Biryukov's award-winning puppet production of Anton Chekhov's short play „The Bear” plays in Moscow Tues., June 19 at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. at the Moscow Puppet Theater on Spartakovskaya Ulitsa, 26/30. The actors working the puppets are Tatyana Buldakova, Sergei Ryabinin and Ilya Kuleikin. The voices were recorded by Oksana Mysina, Sergei Garmash and Kamil Tukayev.

The Drama of Memory is a project organized by the Joseph Beuys Theater, Teatr.doc and the International Memorial Society. It is running from June 14 to 17, and is presenting numerous experimental theatrical interpretations of archival materials. On June 17 at 6 p.m., Oksana Mysina will be one of the actors performing in “Waiting,” a documentary performance directed by Yury Muravitsky that includes letters and memoirs of Russians over the last century who have waited for loved ones to return from war, from prison, from exile and from emigration. Also performing at Boris Belenkin, Svetlana Ivanova, Roza Khairullina, Yulia Bogdanovich and Svetlana Mikhalishcheva. Also in program on the 17th are the projects “Open Letters” and"Texts of Vaclav Havel II. All performances take place in the new Fourth Theater, located in the new Memorial building at Karetny Ryad 5/10.

Oksana Mysina will join the cast of Dmitry Krymov's popular, long-running production of „Auction” on June 13 and 14. The five characters of this work are based on numerous characters drawn from various works by Anton Chekhov, including “Three Sisters“ and „The Cherry Orchard.” The cast is rounded out by Anna Sinyakina, Maxim Maminov, Sergei Melkonyan and Natalya Gorchakova. Performances are held in the Fifth Studio of the School of Dramatic Art on Povarskaya Ulitsa.

A gala concert concluding the Carousel of Stars Youth Festival will take place June 4 at 3 p.m. on the stage of the Maly Theater affiliate. The festival brings together on one stage talented young people, some of whom are physically challenged, some of whom are not. Oksana Mysina will be among those presenting awards to winning performers in various categories.
