Oksana: «I just completed a language marathon — studying conversational Portuguese on the Culture channel. The intensive language lessons were conducted by Dmitry Petrov, the longtime author and host of the Polyglot reality show. I have nothing but great impressions! And I want to go to Brazil again! The show will be broadcast sometime after the New Year.»

Oksana Mysina will reprise one of her most unusual roles for a new round of skype-performances for PopUp Theatrics and their latest internet project in Romania. Oksana's 10-minute play presents a woman in Russia under house arrest who is seeking to get information out to her son. Oksana performs at home before her computer, while spectators over the last three years have witnessed her performance while sitting in various settings in New York, Edinburgh and now Romania. The LONG DISTANCE AFFAIR project, as it is called, is the brainchild of Ana Margineanu and Tamilla Woodward. Over the years Oksana has performed this piece close to 130 times. There are 15 performances scheduled for tonight, Oct. 13.

Georgian playwright Lasha Bugadze has written a new one-actress play for Oksana Mysina. Based on the myth that Vladimir Putin's mother is alive and well and lives in Georgia, it is called „Putin's Mama.” The play, as directed by by Alexander Vartanov, will be read by Oksana at Teatr.doc on Nov. 10 at 8 p.m. Also that evening will be the screening of Ineke Smits' documentary film, “Putin's Mama,” about the woman so many in Georgia believe is Putin's mother.
Admission is free. The theater is located at 11/13 Tryokhprudny Pereulok, near the Pushkinskaya and Mayakovskaya metro stops.
