[30-11-2007] Grand Prix for The Agit-Brigade'Kill the Enemy!'
Vitaly Melnikov's film The Agit-Brigade'Kill the Enemy!' was awarded the Grand Prix at the 15th annual festival of Russian cinema in Honfleurs, France, this week. Last week at the Listopad festival in Minsk, Belarus, the film took the Bronze prize. In Russia the film has been released on DVD and is now available in stores.

Vitaly Melnikov's latest film opens a run on Thursday at the Rolan Cinema in Moscow. This tragicomedy tells the story of a soldier put in charge of a strange group of performers traveling through Siberia and entertaining the locals during World War II. It stars Viktor Sukhorukov, Kirill Pirogov and others and features Oksana Mysina in the role of an enthusiastic school teacher. The Rolan is located at Chistoprudny Bulvar, 12. Metro Chistye Prudy. [27-11-2007] Another Eldar Ryazanov Anniversary Celebration!
The latest in a series of concerts honoring the great Eldar Ryazanov on the occasion of his 80th birthday will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 28 at 7 p.m. at the Eldar Club. Among the performing guests will be Yevgenia Kryukova, Stas Ryadinsky, Svetlana Nemolyayeva, Alyona Babenko, Levon Oganezov, Fyodor Chekhankov and others. At the request of Eldar Alexandrovich, Oksana will sing songs by Bulat Okudzhava and Yevgeny Yevtushenko/Mikael Tareverdiev. Ryazanov himself will be on stage all night and has promised to tell many stories no one has ever heard before.

The concert honoring Eldar Ryazanov at the Operetta Theater on Tuesday this week will be broadcast on Channel One on Sunday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m. The star-studded roster of guests performing for Ryazanov included Alisa Freindlikh, Oleg Basilashvili, Lyudmila Gurchenko, Svetlana Kryuchkova, Pyotr Todorovsky, Svetlana Nemolyayeva, Yevgenia Kryukova, Alyona Babenko, Alexander Shirvindt and many more. Oksana Mysina performed in two numbers — first with a chorus of actresses declaring their love for Ryazanov, and then with her rock band Oxy Rocks, which played their new song Potion for Eternal Love.

Andrei Eshpai's film adaptation of Anatoly Rybakov's Children of the Arbat is running this week and next on the Detsky Mir channel (NTV+). Air times are at 8 p.m. Moscow time. The film stars Chulpan Khamatova, Yevgeny Tsyganov, Yevgenia Simonova, Daniil Strakhov and others. Segments 8 and 9 feature Oksana Mysina as Lidia Grigoryevna Zvyaguro, a revolutionary who is arrrested and swallowed up in prison.

Oksana Mysina and her rock band Oxy Rocks will perform at a tribute to Eldar Ryazanov on the occasion of his 80th birthday. The gala concert, which will include performances from many Russian stars of stage and screen, will take place on Tuesday, November 13 at 7 p.m. at the Operetta Theater. The concert, which is being directed by Dmitry Bertman of the Helikon Opera, will be filmed and broadcast at a later date on Channel 1.
